Roti Chapatti flat bread

 

 

Mix Chapatti flour, oil and water in to a soft dough and knead.

Leave for at least 10 mins in fridge.

Heat tava (skillet)

Roll our one roti in to circle

place on pan

When bubbles appear then turn over roti

Again bubbles will appear under the surface of the roti

using tongs turn roti over and place directly on flames

it should puff up or bubble, move roti around so different parts are in contact with flame and is evenly cooked.

place on a cloth and drizzle with olive oil.

Turn down heat on tava to very low and roll next roti, then turn heat up to medium and repeat process.

  1. When you say roll the roti into a circle – do you mean form the dough into a round ball and then place onto skillet? Do I need to flatten the dough? Thanks!
